We have lived permanently in Perth, Australia, for 14 months, making our home in Australia. We are New Zealand citizens having Kiwisaver (for myself & my wife) in Australia. Since we got a property in Perth on a mortgage, can we withdraw mine & my wife's KiwiSaver & use that money to reduce our mortgage, as we find it hard to pay mortgage payments due to my not having a permanent (casual) job & also my wife having only a part-time job. Can someone in this community please let us know the way forward.

Hi @cperera

Is your Kiwisaver in NZ? You'd need get in touch with your provider about your withdrawal options.

If you were to transfer it to an eligible Australian super fund you'll be able to access it when you're 65 which is in accordance with NZ rules or under the FHSS scheme if eligible. However, if you already have an interest in Australian property you won't qualify for that.
