Hello,

I hope you are well.

I didn’t have a Medicare card until November 2024 and forgot to claim the Medicare levy exemption before 2021. I understand this can be corrected by raising an objection, but I had a few questions:

  • Should the objection be for extending the online amendment window or for the missed tax return?
  • How long does it typically take for an objection to be processed?
  • Should I mail the supporting documents along with the objection form?

Hi @RAVI7909

If you're outside the time limits, you need to request an extension which you'd include with your objection. This info shows what you must include and yes you need to send supporting info.

It's hard to put a timeframe on objections but you can check out how we manage your objection.

Thank you so much for responding

I have always done my returns myself. But given my situation with returns would it be easy to raise an individual objections?
