When booking and paying for Hertz Car Rental online (even through their Membership login), they do not issue a Tax Invoice for the car rental. A confirmation email is recieved that references the booking fee paid, but there is no reference on this to GST or presents as a Tax Invoice. Once the rental is complete, they do issue a Tax Invoice for the extras only (tolls, airport surcharge etc.) but nothing that references the actual vehicle rental. I have asked repeatedly through their call centre, they apologise but then only send a copy Tax Invoice for the extras. This has been an ongoing issue every time I rent from them and I don't understand how they are compliant with tax legislation? Very frustrating and we don't get correct supporting records.

When you don't get a valid tax invoice, you can ask us if we would allow the documents you do have to substantiate your deductions. You can do this through your online services.
We've had a similar question on a previous post and some great advice was given.
