I have changed back to my maiden name and my son has changed his name legally. We can not change our Digital ID or set up new ones as our licence details have already been used with the old surnames. We are locked out of ATO etc as once used digital ID. Rand the number and our names were changed in ATO but they said they do not know how to help with Digital Id.


who can help please?

Hi @Chelle72,


The myID website gives some advice when you need to update your name.


You can select a different name when using a verified document, or you may be able to verify a name change with a change of name certificate (in Tas, SA, NT and ACT only) or marriage certificate. You’ll be prompted to enter the details of your certificate when you either:


    • verify a document that’s in your new name and hasn’t been verified previously
    • reset your app, set up your myID again using the same email address and previous name, and try verify a document with your new name.
