As a business which is GST-registered, should I be charging GST on the sale of second hand items? If a business is closing down and selling furnishings and miscellaneous items through Facebook Marketplace, word of mouth etc, is GST applicable on those sales?

I believe that selling off depreciating assets would still count as taxable sales.
You can also claim GST credits on second-hand items you buy for resale even if the seller is not GST registered. See the guidelines
