I can't find any damage they might have done but my myGov account was logged into by someone else and I've just learnt there was a data breach at myGov. I'm looking for more information and what actions I'm supposed to take regarding this.

If you suspect there has been a data breach on your account, you need to let us know as soon as possible. We've got ways to protect your personal details.


Someone may have gotten into your myGov account without permission, not that the myGov system itself was hacked. 

 

Here's what you can do to protect yourself

  • Change your myGov password right away
  • Check your account history for anything that doesn’t look right
  • Call us to report it and add extra security
  • Call Services Australia on 1800 941 126 if other linked services (like Centrelink or Medicare) are affected be affected.
