Advice given by ATO is to use myid to log in to mygov. If you need to update your mobile number (for SMS token) then this road blocks myID from use, as you need to sign into mygov to link myid in the first instance, and when you attempt this (with an old mobile number) it sends the SMS to my old number. I know my password, security questions... I answered all correctly, nothing matters unless I had this old mobile number, which I don't.
Only solution seems to create another mygovWhy cant mygov just update my mobile number and everything will fix itself? Why do I have to create another my gov ID? If creating a second ID is the only solution should I use a new email address? People are having issues when they use a new email address and also when they don't.
Currently on hold with customer spport. Seriously scratching my head on how to move forward with this....?
