Hi,
I have some questions regarding the tax return of capital gains.
I manage Vanguard ETF and I received the email about pre-fill tax information to the ATO.
I visited the myTax and checked uploaded Vanguard information.
But it differs from Annual Tax Report about only Capital Gains.
Annual Tax Report as below
Capital Gains from trust distributions
•Discounted capital gains non-TAP $781.51
•CGT concession $781.51
Capital gains from disposal of assets
•Discounted capital gains $402.83
•CGT concession $402.82
•Net capital gain (18A) $1,184.34
•Total current year capital gains (18H) $2,368.67
ATO pre-filled as below
•Total net capital gain (18A) $781.51
•Total current year capital gains (18H) $1,563.02
•Capital gains - discount method $781.51
I’m confusing, why are the amounts on the ATO pre-filled different from Annual Tax Report amounts?
So I asked Vanguard, but they said “your account is an individual account. This means that your tax pre-fill is not connected to any other account. Naturally, this means that your information will differ”
I don’t understand it at all, it’s not satisfactory answer.
I heard that tax return must match details ETF tax statement.
Is it sufficient to just amend the amounts of ATO pre-filled as Annual Tax Report and lodge the tax return?
Do I need to do anything else?
Thanks,
