Inquiry about my tax return status

Hello,

I lodged my tax return as a Working Holiday Maker about one month ago, but the status still shows “in progress.”

One of my employers registered with the ATO late, so I had to manually lodge one of my income statements. Could this be the reason why my return is taking longer to process? If so, how can I provide supporting documents or attach additional files?

Also, is it normal for a tax return to take this long to be processed?

Hi @Hayeon,

The status of your tax return will help tell you what processing stage your return is at. A delay may have been caused if your amounts reported don't match or we've received the income statement and it needs to be manually processed.

Check your effective date. If the date has passed, you can call our individual enquires line and ask for an update.
