Hi, does a UK citizen on bridging visa B, waiting for a New Aged Parent (subclass 804) need to make a tax return for investments held in Australia?

Any info greatly appreciated,

Simon

Hi @sigray100,

Whether you need to lodge a tax return depends on your tax residency status, not your visa type. A bridging visa is considered a temporary visa.

If you're an Australian resident for tax purposes, you'll need to declare all income, including from your investments. If you're a foreign resident for tax purposes, you'd only declare Australian-sourced income.

Use our Are you a resident? tool to work out your tax residency status.
