I'm retired but received a payment from a former employer of a number of years ago. There have been complications and I contacted ATO a couple of times (by phone). The last time they told me to get some information and get back to them, providing me with a reference number for this issue. Over the past week I've tried several times to get onto ATO again but after asking (automated) for voice recognition, which I provide, they hang up on me. They say they're too busy. This is even when I ring at 8am, the start of their opening hours. How do I get the information required to resolve the issue to them?

Hi @perplexed,
Depending on what information you were required to gather, you may need to speak with our:
- Lodge and Pay team 13 11 42
- Individual enquires line 13 28 61
If you're not sure who to speak with, our switch board number (13 28 69) may be able to assist.
If you've been given a specific phone number to call with your reference number, it would be best to use that instead.
