I had ATO held super from a super fund I hadn't used since to 2000s. these funds were being held by the ATO as the old super fund had closed my account. I logged into myGov/ATO account and followed the 'transfer held funds' prompts, so it could be deposited into my SMSF. this was a week ago. How long aprox does it take for funds to transfer as I haven't received them in my SMSF yet? When I log into my ATO/mygov account the held funds are no longer displayed.

Hi @kay,


When you request a transfer of ATO-held super to your nominated fund, the transfer isn't instant. We generally make payments to funds via electronic funds transfer or bulk cheque. Most are allocated to the fund within 28 days.


You then need to give your fund time to process it. At this time of year (tax time) things slow down a little too. Since the held funds are no longer displayed in your myGov account, this indicates your transfer request has been processed from our end. Your SMSF should receive the funds within the normal timeframes.
