We've had two individuals outside of Australia who applied for Australian Director IDs but they have had no communication as to the status of their application. Applied in August 2025 - is this a normal length of time?

Postal applications from overseas may take longer to process, as you need to allow for postage time.
Since your individuals applied in August 2025 and it's been several months, it would be worth phoning our overseas enquiries line to ask for an update. If you're calling from outside of Australia, you can phone our overseas line.
There's no other way to track the status of the paper application. We'll post your director ID number once it has been processed. I wouldn't reapply until you've spoken to us to check whether we've received your initial director ID application.

Only the director listed on the application will be able to call for a progress update on a Director ID application. They will need to call us, it will help to have their personal details and the details of the application on hand.
