I want to update my name on ATO home page. But I can’t reach any operator on the phone and find way to update on the website by myself.
Let’s say my first name is Gildong but in website there is space like Gil Dong. I just want to remove the space. That’s it.
I hope to update my name before applying medicare. Or it should be fine without updating?

You can update your name online through ATO online services. You'll need a myGov account linked to us to do this. It's good to update your details before applying for Medicare to ensure consistency across government services.
Since you only want to remove a space from your existing name, you may be able to use the 'Choose a previous name' option. This means you won't need to verify an identity document.
If you're unable to update your name online, you'll need to call our individual enquires line. They may need to verify your name, but it sounds like a simple input error.
