I was asked to update my bank details after the ato told me they had been deleted. I updated them a week ago and there is no progress on my refund. The letter simply says it's been sent to your account on 5th November. I have tried calling several times which they say they are in high demand and can't answer a call. This community page is my last hope.

I'd say check your ATO Online Services account via myGov to confirm your updated bank details and refund status.
It can take 5 business days for the refund to re-issue once the details were updated.
If you've above had already been done, I'd recommend trying to phone again at different times throughout the day. Other options are writing to us, or reaching out to our complaints line.
