Hi, I really need some help because I’ve been trying to link my myGov to the ATO for months and nothing works. I’m 17 and this is the first time I’m trying to access my tax information. I worked at IGA in the 2024 year but I didn’t claim the tax-free threshold on that job. I’m also an immigrant and still kind of new to the Australian system, so I feel like I might be missing something.
When I try to link ATO through myGov, it asks me to confirm either my bank account details or my superannuation details. I enter the correct information from my current bank account and super account, but I always get errors like:
- “Details provided do not match ATO records”
- GFAD03
- APS104
I think this might mean the ATO doesn’t actually have any bank or super details on record for me yet, so there’s nothing to match with. I tried calling 13 28 61 and using the automated system, but the voice authentication never works and the call just resets every time. So I can’t get through to someone to update my details.
Is there another way for a first-time lodger under 18 to verify my identity and get my ATO account linked? Do I need to get someone to manually add my bank/super details first?
Any advice on the best way to get past this verification loop would be really appreciated.
Thank you!
