Yes, that error means the details you’re entering don’t match what we hold in your ATO record. Super fund and bank account information must match exactly for linking and access to work.


Check your personal details in myGov and with your super fund. If your fund has merged or changed names, the ABN or account number you’re entering may differ from what we have. If you can’t use super details to link, you can request a linking code instead.


If you’ve previously accessed ATO online services or the ATO app using myID, you must sign in with the same or higher identity strength you achieved before. The identity strength is unique to each device, so make sure you use the matching myID on that device.
