Hi! I am an employer representative. This employer has a worker who is injured and currently being remunerated from WorkCover. The award that relates states that super is payable when the worker is absent and receiving regular workers compensation payments. My question is, how much super is payable by the employer? Is it based on the workers normal earnings (pre injury) or on the amount paid by WorkCover? Thansk!

Hiya @d2me 👋

The model clause in the Award probably states that the employer must pay super contributions for a work-related injury or illness, provided the employee is receiving workers compensation payments or is receiving regular payments directly from the employer in accordance with the statutory requirements.

As with all superannuation calculations, it's based on the amount paid for the absence.

You need to source that information from the insurer. Those payments may include medical expenses that are not included in your additional super calculation. Just the payment for the absence 😉
