I've been living overseas for the past 18 years (I'm 25), but carry dual citizenship/Australian citizenship. Since I didn't go through uni or work in Australia I have no other documents except my passport/medicare under my parents. I'm planning to move back to Australia this year and want to try to apply for jobs already.
Should I apply for my tax residency as a foreign tax resident first? I never filed this so I have no trace of this. I want to make sure I'm okay once I go there in June.
I know I can apply for TFN from abroad but want to check if the tax residency is important to do ASAP so I can prioritize.
