This depends on the nature of how you're claiming deductions, either as an employee, or as a business/ contractor.
If you'd like to check out this forum post 'Car Expenses', @TonyATO explains claiming deductions for 'Work-related car expenses' (as an employee) or 'Motor Vehicle Expenses (if the vehicle is being used by a contractor/business).
