Can i expect delays with my tax return because of Covid this year? It's already been the 14 days since it was accepted and lodged by the ATO but its been stuck on "processing" for about 10 of those days. I haven't received any updates at all. I thought with all the people who need financial support they would have been trying to get people's tax back to them asap. If its been past the 14 day mark is it worth calling the ATO or will they just tell me to wait?

Hi @AmberTonia,

It is so frustrating when you are waiting, balancing account is the part of the process where we are checking accounts with other commonwealth agencies such as Services Australia (Centrelink). It should only take a few more days. Calling won't speed up the process, but keep in touch here so we can see how its going.

No there is no delays, I've seen people's refund process successfully quite quickly.

What date did you lodge your tax return? Did you lodge through an agent or straight to the tax office online?
