I’ve checked my superannuation on the MyGov website - linked to the ATO website - and have just over $20k unused confessional contributions available from the last 4 years. Plus my Super balance is below the $500k threshold at 30 June 2022. The ATO have advised I’m eligible.
I want to pay the additional $20k into my Superannuation.
how do I make the payment without the $20k being added to my total allowable payments for this financial year?
Is there an ATO form I do I just transfer the money and it is automatically calculated by the ATO as being allowable within the total concessional contribution for the last four years? I’ve looked on the ATO website and there’s information about concessional contributions and the carry forward. But no information on how to actually pay the accrued gap amount.
I have already paid tax on the $20k I will transfer. How do I claim the tax back? Again, is there a form that I need to submit?
does anyone have any info or experience of this situation? I’d be grateful of some advice please.
