Hello,

This is the first time ill be dealing with Centrelink at tax time and I just have a few questions.

I'm currently receiving Youth Allowance as a student, as well as rent assistance.

I understand I need to declare my Youth Allowance income as my gross income at the end of financial year, however, I was wondering if I need to declare the Rental assistance I've been receiving? or is it considered non-taxable income?

If it is non-taxable, would I just leave it out completely in my tax return? Or will it still be assessed somehow?

Thankyou so much for your time :)

All you need to do is to uses the taxable total that will appear on your prefill report.
