Hi there,
Thanks in advance for answering my question!
I am hoping to put $30k into my superannuation account this financial year (2022-23) and I was told I could fill out the form "Notice of intent to claim or vary a deduction for personal super contributions" to claim this amount as an income deduction (I have enough carry-forward concessional contribution to still be on 15% tax rate).
To date, I have contributed around $14k to my super fund and I'm not salary sacrificing.
I have a question about item 12 of the form: I don't know exactly how much I should put down as the personal contributions to my fund. Would it be $44k ($30k plus the $14k) or just the $30k I want to contribute as an extra?
Also, still on this issue, should I estimate how much my employer will be contributing until the last day of the financial year or just indicate how much they have contributed up until the day I signed the form? For example, if I have to consider the contributions already made by my employer (the $14k in my example), do I need to estimate how much this sum will be by the 30th of June 2023 and use this figure?
Thank you very much for your help and let me know if there is anything unclear.
Kind regards,
Squall123.
