I lodge mid July, then two weeks later I get a text saying it’s going to take more time. My refund is only estimated at a dismal $29. This happens every damn year, my fiancé lodged his the same time as me and he received his a week or so ago.

Hey @jaumeelee96,
We understand it must be frustrating for you. There are many reasons why we may need extra time to process your tax return.
Some examples when your tax return may be delayed are:
- you have a tax debt that's been on hold
- you have a tax debt or unresolved tax debt with us
- we need to check information with other government agencies
- we're checking the information provided on your tax return
- you've previously been bankrupt or you're currently under insolvency administration e.g., bankrupt or debt arrangement
We'll update you on the progress of your return which you'll be able to see by logging into your MyGov account.
