A travelling agent leaves home on business, before lunch day 1 and returns after a business overnight stay, after lunch on day 2. Do you provide an allowance for any of the lunches? If so which ones?
Hi @JOE22,
If the travelling agent is traveling away from their home overnight to perform their work duties.
If the lunches meet the definition of travel allowance and is a separate payment the employee receives. The amount can't be rolled into their salary or wages.
You can provide an allowance for both lunches as it's an expected cost. As its part of their overnight travel to perform their employment duties.
