Hi @CPA,

You can manually enter the tax withheld amount in your client's tax return. When the PAYG payment summary doesn't appear in pre-fill, you're able to manually add the income and tax withheld information based on the paper payment summary the employer provided.

However, it's important to understand why the information isn't showing in pre-fill. The employer reports PAYG withholding information to us through Single Touch Payroll, and this data should appear in pre-fill once it's been marked as 'tax ready'. If it's not appearing, the employer may not have finalised their STP reporting or may not have reported the information to us at all.

When you lodge the tax return with manually entered amounts, we'll process it based on the information provided. If we later receive reporting from the employer that doesn't match what was lodged, we may need to amend the return. This is why it's worth confirming the employer's reporting status before lodging.

If they haven't already, the employer needs to finalise their STP reporting or submit the required information through their payroll system.
