I am trying to link my gov account with ato but every time I put my bank details, an error appears saying it’s not registered with ato. How am I supposed to add my bank details with ato

This means that the bank details we have on record for you are different to those you are trying to enter!
You will either need to try entering different bank details or if you don't have the required information to link you will need to get a linking code.
