I need major dentist work done , also time off work while this happens. The options they give for early release don't apply to me for my reason. Can I apply for early release of some of my super to cover dentist, rent and bills . ?

Having major dentist work can definitely be a costly exercise. When you say the options given for early release don't apply to me.
Was this under the expenses eligible for release on compassionate grounds and you determined you weren't eligible? If so, that could be case if don't meet the eligibility condition 1 and eligibility condition 2.
If you're eligible for release of super on compassionate grounds. Paying rent and bills would not be covered as they're considered general personal expenses.
You could look at another condition of release such as severe financial hardship to see if you're eligible.
