i created a tax file number years ago when i got my first job, since then the owners of the company have changed and the new owners don’t have my tfn. i never wrote it down and i don’t know it and never linked it to my my gov or anything like that. can anyone help? how do i find it?
Hi there @bella.hughes
Don't worry there are a few different ways you can find your TFN!
Firstly, you can create a myGov account and link to our online services. By doing this you'll have access to all your information online including your TFN. For help in setting this up have a read of our article which explains linking your myGov account to the ATO.
Have a look to see if you have any of the following documents, has your TFN will be on them:
- income tax notice of assessment
- some letters that we send to you
- payment summary or income statement from your employer and
- on your superannuation account statement.
