In 2020-21 [Year 1] a non-concessional bring-forward arrangement was initiated.

In 2022-23 [Year 3] this was breached.

The excess was released to the ATO (as per option 1)

Does the amount contributed in 2022-23 remain purely as year 3 of the original bring-forward arrangement, or is it also considered year 1 of a new bring-forward arrangement?

Hi @JPL

It depends. As long as the prior bring forward arrangement has ended and you meet all the other conditions- you may automatically trigger year 1 of a new arrangement.  To find out when your bring forward arrangement ends, you can find this quick and easy through the ATO online services via MyGov.

Use the menu options- Super Information and Bring forward arrangement.

There is nothing you need to do to be eligible or activate a new bring forward arrangement, it will be applied automatically.
