I have received an excess non concessional contribution notice and have progressed through the process to my Super Fund paying the nominated amount to the ATO - how long then does it take to find it's way to me please?

Depends on when the election form for release has been processed and the release authority has been sent to your superfund. Once the fund gets the release authority they have 10 business days for the return and release of the funds.
Once the funds have released, they will offset any debts on the account. If the debt has already been paid it will be refunded to you. If for some reason the super fund can't release the funds, you'll receive a letter telling you to make another election.
