Hi,

My super recently released my saving under FHSSS scheme in order to buy my first home. However, due to the increasing house price, finding a home is getting more difficult.

I've lived at my current address for more than 10 years, the property is co-owned by two of my aunts. They are willing to let me build a granny flat in the back yard of their property. I also aim to ultilise First Home Buyer grant from the government to do this.

Would i be able to utilize the FHSSS money into building a granny flat in a relative's backyard?

Hi @Tomorrow2024

It'll depend, are they selling you a parcel of their land?

If your name isn't on the title of the property or vacant land you buy you won't meet the FHSS Scheme requirements.
