Hi everyone please help me with this if you have gone/are going through the same situation like me

I am on student visa, paying my own health care insurance

I have Medicare levy exemption for the last 2 years which means I don't have to pay for Medicare levy or Medicare levy surcharged but I am paying them the last 2 years.

I have called the ATO customer services so many times, they said they saw the Medicare entitlement Statement from their end and that my form was right as well but nothing was done

So one of the officers told me that he took care of the case and he told me just wait for someone to call to confirm deeper information. But nothing has happened after that call. And I called again and again and another 5 people told me to wait for that call and there is no estimated time

What can I do in this case because that call doesn't seem to happen since it's been almost 3 months and the 2 years period of lodgement is going to be over? They told me tax agent can't help with this either.

Hi @Nhung2000,

I understand, no one likes waiting. But it sounds like we're working on your request. If we're fixing multiple years for the Medicare exemption, this could be a reason for delay.

You can keep an eye on online services for the progress of your returns. This'll advise when to expect any refunds and should show any effective dates in real time. 😊

Hi,

Thank you for having replied to my question. I took a look at the online services for the progress of your returns but in my case, but I don't see anything in my ATO showing me that it is in progress, like there is no status shown. The only thing is when I called was they said someone would call me. So in this case, I'd like to know if people have had the same problems as mine got this fixed eventually or not? And what will happen if it passes the 2 years period? Will my case be solved or not?
