You can lodge a tax return before June 30 when the form is available through myTax or when a tax agent has the 2024 tax return software (probably sometime in late June). However you don't usually receive your refund early. The ATO doesn't start issuing refunds until after about July 12 , so lodging your tax return too early can be pointless.

Thank you for that, appreciate your response. Of course not hopeful of wheels turning to access to these return funds early; also not that keen on added joy/trauma of some hoop jumping where it seems little difference to lodging as normal.
