Hi there,

I'm having trouble logging into the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) service on MyGov. There seems to be a mismatch in my details, and I'm therefore unable to "verify" my identity on the website, and it's preventing me from logging in. I have tried calling the ATO directly, but I've been kicked off the phone everytime I've tried to call due to "peak demand". I need a response as soon as possible because I am starting work soon and need to access my Tax File Declaration form.


I have tried the "linking code" (via phone), which has failed due to the ATO not taking my calls. Has anyone else experienced this issue? If so, how did you resolve it? If someone could please help me, that would be greatly appreciated.

Congrats on starting your new job soon!


Are you trying to link your myGov to ATO Online services?


If you don't have the info to link yourself, you were on the right track by calling us to get a linking code.


It's less busy at 8am your local time, if you can try get in touch with us then.


It is easier to complete your TFN declaration online. If you're needing to sort this out sooner than you can get access, the paper option might be better on this occasion. The link has more info.
