i have made an mygovid account using my school email and now that i am going to graduate soon i have decided to make a new account using my gmail. as i had already used my passport and birth certificate on my original account it wouldn’t let me enter it on my gmail account, locking me out when i tried using it. i also used my drivers license and my medicare card to prove my identity on my gmail account. as i need a take file number now i am unable to prove my identity as its not strong enough.
Hi @mnutt10,
Hmmm… being locked out isn't fun.
Can I ask if you still have access to your myGovID account under the old email address? If so, this should be pretty easy. See if you can get back into the original myGovID account. From there head to 'My Identity' and you should actually be able to change the email address to whatever you want to use. If it updates to the new email address, then you just use that when you log in.
Let us know if that helps.

Hello mnutt10,
It would appear you have verified multiple identity documents to multiple email addresses now resulting in your inability to verify to a Strong identity to register for a TFN.
The information RachATO has provided is incorrect and will not resolve your predicament.
You will need to contact the myGovID support line and direct the service agent to escalate your enquiry to the internal support team stating you want your current myGovID emails to be cancelled. Be sure to provide all the emails you have registered in the myGovID app.
Once cancelled you will be able to start over with your preferred email address and then use the correct combination of identity documents to obtain a Strong myGovID.
