I started preparing my tax return before one of my three incomes was 'tax ready'. I wasn't going to lodge it until this said 'tax ready'. Now all of my incomes say 'tax ready' but the one I was still waiting on says $0 tax. Which doesn't make sense. Is this because I started preparing it before it was ready? Have I accidentally overwrote this somehow?

Hi @jacqueline.robi

You're welcome. If the income statement is showing tax ready, that means your employer has finalised your tax info and it's ready to lodge. You'll only need to contact them if you think there's error or it seems to be incorrect.

 Hey @jacqueline.robi,

No, no. Preparing your tax return wouldn't have done this, so try not to worry.

If the income statement is $0, this employer might still be finalising your tax info before sending it to us. Employers have until 31 July to submit it, so if it hasn't changed after then then, definitely reach out to them.

Now, you can still lodge a tax return before it's 'tax ready'. You'll just need to use your own records to fill in their blanks. But if the information they finally send us is different to yours, you'd need to lodge an amended return with the updated info.

Thank you so much for this helpful information!

If this income statement now says 'Tax Ready', but still says $0 tax, should I still wait until the end of the month before contacting them?
