Hi there,
I noticed this morning that there is a new super account in myGov. It was created on July 9, but I have not started a new job or consented to the creation of this super account. Its balance is $0 and I fear that this was created by scammers looking to get into my account and transfer to this new super account. How do I close this account and ensure I am not the subject of a scam?

The easiest way to see how and why it was created would be to grab the membership number (found under fund details) and give them a call directly.
Ask how it was created, if any payments were made into it and say you would like to close it down (if you still think it's not yours).
It's possible, an old superfund of yours may have merged with another and that's why it shows as a new account, with a new superfund.
Without having access to your account info directly we couldn't say 100% what's going on.
