i have a UK pension in excess of the non concessional cap. I will be over 60 at the time when i transfer and the transfer will be done immediately of becoming an Australian resident. The pension will be in draw down and i will have taken my 25% tax free. I would like to transfer the entire remaining pension, however this will exceed the NCC. What tax would i be liable to pay? Bearing in mind there would be no earnings on my pension post coming an Aus resident, as i will complete the transfer immediately.
Hi @Jett1,
As an Australian Resident, you'll be subject to tax if your non concessional cap (NCC) exceeds. The NCC for 2024-2025 FY is $120,000. if you exceed this limit, we'll send you a determination explaining your options.
