My family migrated to Australia in 1986, and my father established a small business and invested in properties. As a permanent resident, he paid taxes and superannuation until he left Australia in 1997 to care for his parents, at which point he lost his permanent residency. He only returned to Australia as a tourist.

My father recently passed away, and we had never discussed his superannuation. I have managed to locate his tax file number, and I am now seeking assistance in tracing any lost superannuation he may have accumulated.

Could you please advise on the steps to locate his superannuation funds?

Thank you for your help.

Hi @Jabbda,

So sorry for your loss. ๐Ÿ˜”

Being that it was so long ago that they worked and earned super here. It's most likely that it was sent to us if there was anything remaining. Sometimes small amounts can get eaten up by fees. ๐Ÿ’ธ

We have a lost super search form on our website. As you're a third party wanting to look on someone else's account.

You'd need to be a legal personal representative for us to give you any info though.

This means you'd need to get a grant of probate or letters of administration to apply as LPR first. ๐Ÿ‘Œ
