I have worked at a restaurant for over 3 years and within that time I had never received a payslip. I didn't have a roster and worked set days discussed with my boss. I received weekly payments directly into my bank account with payment depending on my hours. I have a TFN and have super that my boss put money in. I have never made enough to get me near the tax threshold, but since I am getting a new job I will and am unsure what is going to happen with the payments I received from my old job since that is where all my income has come from. A friend told me that when they left they had to pay a lot of tax because it was never paid at the moment.
I was wondering how to lodge my taxes without a payslip (just my bank statements) and my job not submitting my income to the ATO. I can always ask them to do it, it was just never an issue.
