Hi @SonyaBodger,

A little more info might be needed.

Are you the holder of an ABN and do work using this? This is where the Activity Statement account will come into play.

If you do work under an ABN, you need to lodge Business Activity Statements on specific dates, depending on what you're set up as. If you don't do this, you get penalties and these will sit on your 001 Activity Statement account, creating a tax bill.

BAS's are used for reporting GST amounts (among other things) paid and you can claim ones you've had to pay in the name of operating a business. GST amounts don't go into your personal tax return, so if you've included whole amounts (including GST) in there for anything, you might need to amend that too. 👌

But without looking at your account or having more info, one can only guess. 🤔
