Hello everyone,

I’m reaching out because I’m currently in a really tough situation and could use some guidance or help. I’ve been trying to strengthen myID to the standard level, but I’ve hit a major roadblock with the verification process, and it’s now affecting my job.

Every time I try to upload my passport details to verify my visa, I get an error message saying, "This document has been verified under an existing myID email address," with error code 45047(422). I contacted the myID team in early June 2024, and they reset my emails, but the issue hasn’t been resolved.

I’ve called the myID team more than 10 times, and each time, they tell me to wait two weeks for a solution, but nothing has changed.

This has become incredibly urgent because I work as a tax consultant, and on a regular basis, I need to log into the ATO portal for my work. Last tax season, the company I work for helped me access the pre-fills, but now they’ve put my job on hold until I fix the issue with myID. As a result, I am currently jobless and stuck without any resolution in sight.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue or have any advice on how to resolve this quickly? Is there any office where I can visit? I really need to get this fixed to secure my job, and any help would mean a lot.

Going by the info you provided you may have registered for a myID account under a different email address and already verified your passport on that account.


The only way to fix the issue yourself would be to login on the original email and update to your new email address. If you don't remember the original email address, then it sounds like you've followed the right steps for further support. Sometimes there can be a bit of a backlog that can increase wait times.


I recommend you get a receipt ID when you call, so you can always follow up on the progress by quoting it next time you call.
