im just trying to find out if my fiance application for partner visa (subclass 820) may be affected if i have outstanding balance for tax repayments. Im on a payment plan for now. Hoping i can find the answers here.

Hey @bargos27, this is more a question for the Department of Home Affairs, rather than the ATO. However, I found this information on their website on Eligibility which I believe answers your question – "If you or any family members owe the Australian government money, you or they must have paid it back or arranged to pay it back."
So if you're currently on a payment plan for your debt then it should be fine.
