I am trading share options and am looking at setting up a company to trade through rather than in my personal name. I will be earning over $75,000 pa. Do I have to register for GST? If yes, why? is the tax I pay still limited to company tax maximums or do different rules apply? Is it only CGT that I pay?

No

Options trading would be taxed as a business - 25%

Is it only CGT that I pay?

Options trading would be taxed as a business - so CGT would not apply.
