We are a DGR charity who is looking into running an auction, and asking local businesses to make a donation of items for auction.
Are they able to claim a tax deduction (are we able to issue a receipt) for the below types of donations:
- Donation of business products (under $5k) for auction
- Donation of a voucher for X amount towards the businesses services for auction
- Direct donation of business services e.g. auctioneer "donates" his services to the running of the auction.
All amounts are expected to be under $2k and being able to issue a tax deduction would go a long way to incentivizing businesses to support our fundraiser.
