I have about $4,000 of superannuation withheld by ATO from my previous uni employer a few years ago when I was still a PhD student on a student visa. I left Australian in 2022 and have not returned since then. I want to withdraw my ATO-withheld super on the ATO online services site, but when I click on "Withdraw ATO-held super", the system keeps telling me that I have not provided your financial institution details, and I need to update my personal details. This is not true as I have provided my Australian bank account and foreign residential information where I am currently based. Please advise how I can withdraw the ATO-held super to my bank account.

Hi @hdang1302,
Let's see if I can get you pointed in the right direction.
I'd recommend:
- Double-checking your financial institution details by Logging in to ATO online services via myGov, go to Super, then Profile, and ensure your bank details are correctly entered.
- Update your personal details: Even if they seem correct, try re-entering your foreign residential address and bank details to refresh the system.
- Contact us directly: If the issue persists, you may need to reach out via phone
- Alternatively, you can apply using a paper form, but this can take a bit longer.
