forgot password says send sms to phone no sms next send code to email no code seems im unable to go anywhere i tried resetting myid codes sent to email and phone so why doesnt mygov send getting to the point where i just wont bother having a mygov if its gonna be this hard

So not fun right!
Alas, that's something you'll need to sort out with the myGov team directly, they're associated with Services Australia and not the ATO.
If it's myID that you're really talking about, or talking about exclusively, then that IS handled by ATO employees.
They are two separate things handled by two separate agencies. Hopefully this gets sorted for you by contacting the right department for your specific needs. 🍀
This has been happening to me for a few months now as well.
Each time I've then tried to ring mygov, but the wait times are ridiculous (like about 45 minutes on hold).
I've also tried the 'we'll ring you back if you leave your number' option, but no one EVER rang me back, despite me not being on my phone all day and the recording claiming they'll try three times.
I'm very careful with my security, so there should be absolutely NO reason, on my end, as to why this is happening. It's definitely on Mygov's end. I can only assume, until I hear otherwise, that it's the gov trying to force us into using their digital ID option or similar?
That or they simply stuffed up something tech on their end months ago and still haven't fixed it. So frustrating, grr!!
P.S. All I need is my TFN so I can then move on with my life to ring another gov dept about something, sigh.

If you reach out through the Individual enquiries line the ATO should be able to help you out with the TFN part at least. Try 8am your local time for a good chance during the peak Tax Time season. 🍀
