Can anyone advise the proper process for early access to my super for surgery for a chronic injury I’ve had for 3+ years? Who am I supposed to contact first and from there on?

Hi @TeeJay93,

Sure.

To apply for medical treatment you'll need 2 x Medical reports, one from a specialist and one from a GP or another specialist. You'll also need quotes or invoices for the treatment, surgery, medications and other associated costs.

You can apply online through myGov > ATO online > Super > Manage > Compassionate release. Or you can get the paper form from the ATO directly, as it's not available from the public website.

Come back if you need any more info on releasing on compassionate grounds. 👌
